Panama, because of its strategic location, has become the hub of the Americas and its economy rests primarily on the services sector. Especially logistics and transportation are key to strengthen the Panamanian economy. Among the services Panama offer we find the Panama Canal, banking, the Colón Free Trade Zone, container ports, flagship registry, and the Tocumen Airport which connects the world.
Thanks to the aforementioned factors together with the great infrastructure development projects, investors have considered Panama a place with great potential for businesses, which in fact have boosted  the economy. The economy has been one of the fastest growing economies in the world with an average annual growth rate of 5.6 percent over the last five years.
Another important factor to mention is that Panama, because of its currency and stability, has become the place for multinationals and other companies to establish themselves and manage the American region from the center of the continent more effectively, becoming not only a crossroad for two oceans, but also a global logistic center.
Definitely a country with a modern port infrastructure, servicing the shipping industry.
